Happy Easter

 

Happy Easter! This is the festive garland that Emily and Lauren made to hang across our fireplace. 

We went nearly candy-less for Easter this year, and it was a nice change. Here is Lauren opening what turned out to be the favorite Easter gift this year... a Melissa and Doug wooden house with locks and keys!

We also had a belated birthday celebration this weekend as Michelle and I both had birthdays this month. The girls decorated the cake and everyone enjoyed the celebration!

Dental Checkups, A Dinosaur, and Curb Jumping

The girls had dental checkups this week! Emily did a great job during her cleaning but kept asking the hygienist, "Are you done yet?"

Lauren had a fun time!

My birthday was last week and Lauren made me one of the cutest cards ever featuring a dinosaur carrying a pretty flower! 

Emily's daredevil streak continues... she taught herself how to jump curbs on her bike!

Spring Skiing in Bend

Our February Bend trip was so much fun we decided to return this month for a couple more days of skiing at Mt. Bachelor. This is me at the top of the Summit lift... this time around I was able to ski down without falling once! 

The girls enjoy taking skiing lessons and have really progressed. Here they are riding on the chair lift for the first time. They are sitting with their teacher Katie in the chair just to the left of the pole.

At the end of the day we caught up with the girls and teacher Katie and we all skied back to the lodge together.

Girls' First Piano Lesson

The girls had their first piano lesson this week at the Oregon Music Academy! Here is Emily listening as teacher Mary Ann explains something. 

Lauren was nervous and excited for her first lesson! 

Sometimes we eat lunch at Subway... the girls like turkey sandwiches with mayo and green bell peppers, and Lauren also likes American cheese on hers. This week they gave out special bags featuring one of the girls favorite cartoon characters, Perry the Platypus!

Lauren's bag had Perry's alter ego, Agent P, on it.

Playtime Snapshots

The girls are always eager to ride bikes and play outside if it's not raining. Here are some snapshots I took over the weekend:

We brought the girls' bikes to a nearby park to do some trail riding. Justin and I quickly discovered that following them on foot is great exercise!

We had a free afternoon this week and the girls decided they wanted to go bowling!  Lauren (left) and Emily (right) chose matching bowling balls.
