3rd Grade Music Performance and Haircuts

The third grade music performance was last week... the students put on a fantastic show!

Emily is in the second row from the back near the center of the photo.

Lauren is in the second row from the back, second from the left. 

Emily had an orthodontist check up. Her twin block retainer set is working well!

The girls went to a nice salon to get haircuts. We did some shopping afterwards and got take out sushi for dinner. :)

Skiing at Mt. Hood Meadows

We recently went on a day trip to Mt. Hood Meadows. It took a while to drive there because the roads were a bit slippery.   

The girls met up with their friend Amanda. The three of them ski really fast when they are together... it's hard to keep up with them!

This was my typical view of them as I tried to keep up.  

We had a great day together!

Skiing at Mt. Bachelor

We went on a long weekend trip to Bend to go skiing at Mt. Bachelor. There was so much snow!

Snowman and Sledding

We had even more snow this past week... enough to build a big snowman!

San Diego Trip 2017

A few days after Christmas we flew out to San Diego for a vacation! We stayed at the Omni La Costa resort. There was a beautiful gingerbread house in the lobby.

We went out to dinner with the Lin Family, our good friends from North Carolina who also happened to be visiting San Diego.

We also had breakfast with them the next morning!

We visited Legoland for a day... it was a bit rainy at times but this fortunately resulted in smaller crowds and shorter lines. 

The girls love the Knight's Tournament ride! I get dizzy just watching it.

We went out to eat at a great restaurant where kids could make their own pizzas.

It was a little on the cool side while we were there... perfect hot tub weather!

On New Year's Day, Emily and I woke up feeling sick... we ended up coming down with the flu. We rested at the hotel that day and spent a little bit of time walking around the resort grounds. 

We also had a delicious lunch at one of the resort restaurants. 

Lauren and Justin went to the wildlife reserve park while Emily and I rested at the hotel. 

They got to see a baby cheetah!
