January- Lexi Photos and Ice Storm

Sometimes she folds herself in half when she naps. 

She loves to rest. 

We experienced a terrible ice storm in January. 

The driveway and streets became a thick sheet of ice. 

Lexi noticed that the streets looked different. She stayed inside until everything melted.

Japan Trip- Last Day

Pickled veggies at the breakfast buffet.

It was a drizzly morning but I decided to take a quick walk to the nearby park. 

It was very peaceful. 

We ate at a sushi restaurant in the airport.

I don't think I could ever get tired of eating sushi in Japan! 

When we took off it was evening in Tokyo. 

Portland is 17 hours behind Tokyo, so when we landed it was daytime. We had such a great time in Japan and hope to return again someday!

Japan Trip- Tokyo

The breakfast buffet at the Hilton Tokyo is the best! Hard to capture the size and extent with photos. 

Walking around the streets of Shinjuku. 

My favorite store Hands has multiple locations in Tokyo. 

Lots of exotic Kit Kat flavors in Japan. 

Extensive collection of coffee brewing cones... such a fun store to explore. 

Lots of neat displays and signs in Shinjuku. 

The famous 3-D cat billboard... it is 155 square feet!

There are drink vending machines everywhere in Tokyo. 

The subway stations in Tokyo are very clean despite the absence of garbage cans. 

We rode the subway to Ginza... the Ginza station has fun colorful lighting. 

The Ginza food basement is amazing! It is a huge basement level food hall with an incredible selection of food. 

We tried the giant shrimp tempura...

... a snow crab onigiri...

... a pear and whipped cream sandwich...

... a tasty scone...

... and a red bean pancake treat.  Everything was delicious!

We bought a tin of these fancy cookies as a souvenir.

The Ginza area of Tokyo is a fun place to go shopping. 

I visited Itoya, a famous stationery shop that was founded in 1904.

The shop has twelve floors, including a cafe. 

Extensive collection of fancy pens.

Globes of varying styles and sizes. 

The paper selection was impressive... who knew there were so many shades of white?!?

A glittery My Melody statue. 

For our last dinner in Japan, we chose a sushi restaurant.

The food was delicious but wow, we were stuffed by the end!

We saw this beautiful art piece in the Ginza subway station as we made our way back to the hotel.
