On Saturday we woke up early to take advantage of our last full day in Amsterdam. We took an Uber out to Lisse to visit the famous Keukenhof gardens.
There is a large ornate street organ near the entrance of the gardens.
The music was quite loud!
The gardens were beautiful even though the tulips were not in full bloom.
In the afternoon we took an Uber out to Zaanse Schans, a historic wind mill village with wooden houses and artisan shops.
Hard to see, but there was a bustling hot chocolate shop inside.
We sampled some tasty cheeses.
Lauren bought some of her favorites to take home.
Dutch Miffy.
There was also a wooden clog workshop at Zaanse Schans.
The wind mills were very picturesque.
In the late afternoon we returned to Amsterdam and walked around the city.
The girls were excited to check out this candy shop.
We walked to Dam Square...
...and along the canals.
One last tunacado sandwich and green smoothie from Joe and the Juice.
We also went to Fabel to order some of their famous Dutch fries.
The long line moved surprisingly fast and the fries were delicious!
