Amsterdam and Nice Trip- Sunday

We flew back to Portland on Sunday. For some reason the business class tickets for that flight were not much more than premium economy, so we splurged! Our tickets included entry into the KLM lounge at the airport.

It was amazing being able to fully stretch out during the flight.

There was a storage cubby and side table.

The menu was impressive.

Being able to lie down flat to sleep made the long flight seem shorter.

The final meal before landing... could not believe how delicious the food was!

It was an incredible trip and we were happy to be back at home.

Amsterdam and Nice Trip- Saturday

On Saturday we woke up early to take advantage of our last full day in Amsterdam. We took an Uber out to Lisse to visit the famous Keukenhof gardens.

There is a large ornate street organ near the entrance of the gardens.

The music was quite loud!

The gardens were beautiful even though the tulips were not in full bloom.

In the afternoon we took an Uber out to Zaanse Schans, a historic wind mill village with wooden houses and artisan shops.

Hard to see, but there was a bustling hot chocolate shop inside.

We sampled some tasty cheeses.

Lauren bought some of her favorites to take home.

Dutch Miffy.

There was also a wooden clog workshop at Zaanse Schans.

The wind mills were very picturesque.

In the late afternoon we returned to Amsterdam and walked around the city.

The girls were excited to check out this candy shop.

We walked to Dam Square...

...and along the canals.

One last tunacado sandwich and green smoothie from Joe and the Juice.

We also went to Fabel to order some of their famous Dutch fries.

The long line moved surprisingly fast and the fries were delicious!

Amsterdam and Nice Trip- Friday

Delicious buffet breakfast at the hotel.

It's always fun to check out local shopping malls when we travel.

A cute Boston terrier walking through town.

Another stroll down the beautiful promenade.

We walked through the older section of Nice... lots of neat shops and restaurants.

A pretty soap display.

We had lunch at a seafood restaurant.

We also visited a boulangerie to buy some baguettes and pastries.

After that we headed to the airport and flew back to Amsterdam. We loved Nice and hope to return again someday!
