On our last full day in Mexico City, we went to Chapultepec Castle. The estate was the official residence of the president of Mexico for many years. It was turned into a museum in 1939.
The interior was quite lavish.
The garden area in the back was beautiful.
After we toured the castle, we went to Chapultepec city park. The park happened to be hosting a weekend festival honoring bats.
Mexico City is called Ciudad de Mexico in Spanish and is often abbreviated CDMX.
The park had a picturesque lake with paddle boats.

The park is huge... over 1700 acres with endless walking paths.

The Museo del Perfume is a small perfume museum. The entry way was beautiful.
They had a collection of classic scent notes in flasks... you could squeeze the bulb and smell the scent.

The National Museum of Art building is impressive.

My favorite exhibit was by Rodrigo Pimentel, a contemporary artist born in 1945.
This radish painting by Diego Rivera was also interesting.
We went out to dinner at Caracol De Mar... we were really impressed by all the great restaurants in Mexico City!

When we left the restaurant, the street buildings were illuminated with colorful lights.
The streets had a festive feel with music and dancing.
The next morning I took a final walk through Alameda Park before we headed to the airport... we really enjoyed Mexico City and hope to go back again someday!
