January Snapshots

We made blood orange olive oil cake earlier this month and it was delicious!

Watching the movie Coco at Cinetopia.

Sometimes the girls make us breakfast on the weekends... they are becoming pretty impressive chefs!

Emily made this knitted hat with giant pom pom for her bunny.

Lauren made one for her bunny too.

An early Chinese New Year celebration at Amanda's house. Frances made dumplings from scratch!

Emily got to pick out the design for her new retainer.

Lauren made a cute portrait of DD at the Apple store.

Emily is really good at finger knitting.

This past weekend the girls made vegan pancakes all by themselves!

Enjoying sandwiches at Grand Central Baking.

Shopping finds from Thinker Toys in Multnomah Village.

Bento lunches at Nikki's.

Our friend Jane knitted these gorgeous sweaters for the girls' American Girl dolls!

San Diego, Part 2

I brought my fancier camera with me to San Diego to practice my photography skills. There were so many pretty things to take pictures of!

San Diego Trip December 2017

We took a trip to San Diego during the week between Christmas and New Year's. We rented a condo and the view was gorgeous!

The condo we stayed in was in the center building, top floor.

 The sunset views were amazing!

We visited Sea World... as you can tell by Lauren's face, some of the rides were kind of babyish.

Checking out the white beluga whales.

Emily did not like the smell of the penguin area.

Watching the killer whale show.

The girls love roller coasters! Justin is waving at the camera and Lauren is seated behind him.

The girls rode the roller coaster several times.

Emily and I on the gondola ride.

 Pretty view from the gondola.

Flamingos!

Playing on the beach at sunset.

One of the restaurants we went to had impressive kids' meals... Emily had the steak.

Lauren had the salmon.

Our condo was a block away from Mission Bay Park.

Mission Bay Park was a nice place to go walking and running.

Our condo was across the street from Belmont Park.

The girls loved riding the Belmont Park roller coaster.

Bumper cars! Lauren is wearing a pink t-shirt.

Emily bumping into someone.

The girls enjoyed playing on the beach each day until sunset.

On one of the nights we ordered a huge chef's choice sushi platter for dinner.

Feeling stuffed after eating the entire platter.

The Coronado public pool is amazing... in addition to a regular pool they have a ten lane, fifty meter lap pool!

We walked by the famous Coronado Hotel.

We rented a surrey bike to ride around Coronado.

Lauren sat in the driver's seat but did not actually drive... (you have to be 16 years old).

On our last day in San Diego we went to Sunset Cliffs to enjoy the views.

We also stopped in Little Italy for lunch. It was a great trip!
