Track and Field

 

The girls are enjoying their first ever season of track and field! Emily was invited to the Wilsonville Invitational to compete in varsity triple jump. She got a personal record of 32 feet and 11.75 inches.

Lauren is doing really well with short distance sprint races.

Spring Break 2023- Bend

We went to Bend for spring break! We rented a house in Tetherow.

There was a ton of fresh snow on Mt. Bachelor. Here is Emily after taking a fall.

Kona Mix Plate is one of our favorite restaurants in Bend.

Chicken teriyaki, beef bulgogi, macaroni salad, and rice... delicious!

At the end of the week, we drove home from Bend using an alternate route through the Dalles to avoid snow and traffic. The scenery was really pretty. 

We stopped in Hood River for lunch... I had avocado toast from Doppio. It was a great spring break!

Orchestra Performances

 

Lauren was part of a string quartet for a district wide orchestra event... they did a great job!

At the spring orchestra concert, she played piano for one of the songs. 

Lauren played violin for the rest of the concert... she was in the front row, second from the end of the row.

Denver Trip With Alice

In March I met up with my best friend Alice for our annual weekend in Denver. We love to eat at a restaurant called Sushi Den. 

The black miso cod is one of my favorites. 

It was cold but sunny... we did a lot of walking. 

We visited a contemporary art museum which was interesting. 

We also went to Red Rocks Park.

The amphitheater is impressive... it is a steep climb to the top.

We also visited the town of Golden...we were able to meet up with Kali!

She gave us a tour of the School of Mines campus... so pretty!

Skiing at Mount Hood

The girls had a day off from school in March because of a teacher workday... Justin took the day off and the three of them went skiing at Mt. Hood. It was a beautiful day!

Lexi Photos- February 2023

Lexi is very agile and loves to play with her plush flamingo. 

When we are not playing catch the flamingo with Lexi, we have to store the flamingo out of her reach or she will tear it apart in minutes. 

Lexi knows she is not supposed to sit on my pillow but she cannot resist.

Lauren took a selfie with Lexi... so cute!

Sometimes Lexi has "zoomies" which are short episodes of extreme energy where she runs around in circles. This is apparently common with Boston terriers.
