Annual Checkups

The girls are healthy and growing well! Lauren (left) is 5 feet, 4.5 inches.

Emily (right) is 5 feet, 6 inches. They are both taller than me!

Lexi- Awake and Snoring

Lexi figured out where I keep her backup flamingo toys. We have to periodically replace them because she bites the wings and legs off.

We can place a treat or two in an empty box and it turns into a fun game for Lexi.

Lexi loves to play near people's feet. Sometimes she growls and tries to act fierce but she never bites.

Chewing on her rope toy... she has the cutest little freckle on her left arm.

Lexi sleeping.

If you turn the volume up, you can hear her snoring.

Sometimes Lexi gets "zoomies"... she will suddenly get really wild and start running in circles. It ends as abruptly as it begins. Apparently this is common with Boston Terriers.

I had to adjust her seat belt as it was clearly not keeping her in the dog seat.

Lexi loves to quietly observe people/things from afar when we are out on walks.

She loves poached chicken and canned pumpkin! She eats kibble too, so the chicken and pumpkin dinners are a real treat. :P

Happy Birthday to Daddy!

Justin and the girls were in Hood River for windsurfing camp on his birthday.

They came home in the evening and we had a cake celebration. Happy birthday to Daddy... we love you!

Windsurfing Camp 2021

Earlier this month the girls attended a four day windsurfing camp in Hood River... here is Lauren with her board.

Lexi stayed at the vacation condo during the afternoon windsurfing sessions, but she did enjoy a few short outings in Hood River.

Emily loved this salad and iced matcha latte at Doppio.

Windsurfing with Amanda has become a favorite summer tradition!

Lexi's Foot Pad Injury

Lexi injured one of the pads on her left foot... we had to wait a day for an available veterinary appointment, so in the meantime we got her some protective socks which she did not like.

The vet bandaged her foot and gave her a cone and antibiotics.

Lexi was not pleased about any of it.

She made the most of it though and still played with her toys.

We discovered that the initial cone was too small, so the next day she got a larger cone.

She was not happy but tried her best to still play with her toys.

Resting in her favorite sunny patch in the kitchen nook.

Napping on the couch with Lauren.

We put a sock on over the bandage and attempted a couple of very short walks so she could enjoy some fresh air.

At her follow up appointment the vet removed her bandage. She kept biting her foot though, so we kept the cone on.

Lexi has maintained such a good attitude throughout this ordeal. Her foot pad is healing well and she should be back to her usual activities soon!

Summer Fun

The girls' friends Ila and Ida visited from Arizona!

The girls enjoyed a giant slip and slide at Grandma and Grandpa Rufener's house.

Spending time with cousin Elliot, Stella, and June.

Lauren's friend painted this for her... it's a portrait of Lexi and we love it!

Walk With Bear at Cook Park

Lexi met up with cousin Bear for a walk at Cook Park... she was SO excited!

The fenced dog park area was empty, so I let Lexi run free. She ran around a little, but was mostly hoping to play chase with Bear.

Bear preferred to sit quietly next to Aunty Kimberly.

We walked all the way to the lake in Tualatin.

Lexi could not contain her excitement.

Checking out the ducks...

We stopped at a tea shop for fruit tea and lunch.

The food and tea was delicious!

The tea lounge had outdoor dining which was perfect.

Lexi and Bear walked back side by side.

Lexi fell asleep on the car ride home.

She took another nap when she got home. It was a great day!
