Pumpkin Carving

This weekend we carved pumpkins! The girls love to pull all the seeds out.

Emily's New Retainers

Emily got a twin block retainer set this week! She'll be wearing it at home and while she sleeps to help correct her overbite and make room for her permanent teeth. 

Emily selected the color... she chose a beautiful dark blue color with gold sparkles!  

Mochi and a Trip to the Library

Once a week the girls have piano lessons after school. Here is Emily eating one of her favorite snacks (mochi made by MAWS!) and reading in the waiting room while Lauren has her lesson.

We go to the library every few weeks to check out books... the girls love to return their own books using the conveyor belt/touch screen computer station. :)

Pajama Party

The girls went to a super fun birthday party this weekend... everyone wore pajamas! One of the games they played involved tying an empty kleenex box to your waist. A ping pong ball was placed in the box and the object of the game was to try to shake the ball out of the box without using your hands. We went to the Baggenstos pumpkin patch this weekend... it's our favorite!

Fall Piano Recital

Emily (left) and Lauren (right) got all dressed up for their fall piano recital! The video clips are unfortunately too long to post here. :( Emily played Dark Horse and Lauren played Pompeii.

Taekwondo Sparring

The girls have been doing taekwondo for well over a year now and decided to start sparring! This photo show Lauren getting kicked on her chest guard. She is in the front wearing a blue vest.

They also did short rounds of sparring with the goal of trying to make light contact on their opponent's chest/back guard. Here is Emily about to do a kick.

Eight Year Checkups

The girls went to see their pediatrician this week for an eight year checkup and got a clean bill of health! Lauren (left) is 53 inches (88th percentile) and 60.8 pounds (67th percentile). Emily (right) is 53 and 1/4 inches (90th percentile) and 63.6 pounds (76th percentile). 

Comparison to three years ago... they've grown so much!

We stopped at Costco after their check ups... the girls loved this large nutcracker.

They also loved this Halloween inflatable we saw this weekend at the swim center. So many fun decorations during this time of year!

Alberta Rider Elementary Jogathon 2016

Every fall the girls' school has a jogathon to raise money. Here is Emily's class at this year's jogathon.
