USATF Region 13 Junior Olympic Championships

Emily triple jumped 36 feet at the USATF Region 13 meet... she finished in third place which means she qualifies to compete at the national meet in Texas!

Emily completed the 100 meter sprint in 12.92 seconds for an 11th place finish.

The girls competed in the 4x100 meter team relay... here is Lauren handing off the baton to Emily. Their team finished the race in 50.52 seconds for a 7th place finish.

Emily long jumped 15 feet, 2.25 inches for a 13th place finish.

Congrats to Lauren and Emily on a great meet, and good luck to Emily as she heads to Texas A&M University later this month to compete in triple jump at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships!

Fun summer manicures for the girls.

Lexi often naps next to me when I am working from home.

More couch lounging.

We went out to Nikki Sushi and Steak for Father's Day... the sushi was delicious!

Lauren ordered an extra piece of sushi that was served in a decorative bowl with dry ice... so fancy!

Rufener Family Reunion in California- Days Four and Five

Portrait of the entire reunion group.

Group photo from Radiator Springs Racers.

I lost track of how many times the girls rode the Incredicoaster.

On our last evening in California, we attended a medieval dinner show, complete with knights and horses.

We saw horse dancing, also known as dressage.

There was also some staged fighting... it was very theatrical and reminded us of lucha libre wrestling matches in Mexico City.

When we flew back home, we were able to see Crater Lake from our window. So pretty!

Rufener Family Reunion in California- Day Three

Family selfie at the Disneyland entrance.

Walking down Main Street.

It's A Small World is one of my favorite rides.

Emily getting ready to enjoy a raspberry Mickey Mouse macaron.

Bryce and family flew into California that day... it was great to see them.

The Rise of the Resistance ride is impressive... feels like you are in the movie!

Mid afternoon break to relax at the hotel pool.

Another family selfie at the Disneyland entrance.

Group photo with Austin and family.

Scarlett took this photo of us on the Matterhorn Bobsleds... so much fun!

Rufener Family Reunion in California- Day Two

The next day we drove to Los Angeles to visit Universal Studios Hollywood.

The Harry Potter themed area was impressive!

The Simpsons area had this cute Krusty the Clown building.

Family portrait in front of Krusty.

We went on the studio tour and saw various movie sets.

We saw the DeLorean car from the Back to the Future movie.

Parts of the studio tour were more dramatic than we anticipated. In this area, there was a simulated flood that made everyone scream.

Norman Bates' house from the movie Psycho.

Group photo in front of the Universal Studios globe.

Super Nintendo World was really neat... it was like being in a Super Mario Brothers video game.

Selfie with Emily at the end of the day. We had a fun time but it was so hot!

Rufener Family Reunion in California- Day One

The Rufener family reunion was in Anaheim, California this year. We flew in from Portland and spent our first evening at the Disney California Adventure Park.

Cute loaf of sourdough bread shaped like Baymax.

Eating dinner with the group.

Me with Lauren on the Ariel's Undersea Adventure ride.

The four of us with Scarlett and Elliot.

Lauren and Scarlett got front row seats on the Incredicoaster!

Enjoying a cookie after the roller coaster ride.

Walking to Cars Land in the evening.

The Radiator Springs Racers ride is my favorite! So fun to see the scenery at night.

Action shot of us on the ride :)
