Birthday Parties and Movie Night

The girls enjoyed a fun birthday celebration for Samantha, their friend from summer camp.

Emily cooling off with a friend in a wind tunnel at a recent Pump It Up party.

The sweaty and exhausted party group!

Poor Lauren was sick this weekend, so she spent a lot of time resting.

We watched a movie on saturday night... Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We recently finished reading the book together, so it was fun to see the movie version.

Regatta Park Playground

Stopping to play at Regatta Park before driving home from Lincoln City is one of our summer trip traditions. The wooden play structure is huge and the view of the lake is always so pretty.

Visit to Oregon Coast Aquarium

We visited the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport... it's always fun to see the beautiful aquariums!

Girls touching a sea anemone.

After our visit we had a late lunch at the Rogue Brewery. The girls got to sample the root beer and loved it!

Lincoln City Trip

We always look forward to our yearly summer trip to Lincoln City. We stayed in the same condo complex as last year. We love the view!

Our first day there was cloudy and cool.

The next day was sunny and warm with blue skies!

Justin had a chance to kiteboard during our visit too. Here he is walking towards the ocean after launching his kite. His kite is the green one right above the big rock in the ocean.

Justin kiteboarding! I wish I had brought my zoom lens...

The girls and I like to treat ourselves to salt water taffy at the coast... yum!

Sunday Diary

Girls watching Big Hero 6 on an iPad.

Checking out books at the library.

We visited a local toy store and the girls used a birthday gift card to buy Beanie Boo stuffed animals.

An afternoon game of Candyland.

Ready for swimming lessons! The girls are learning how to do the butterfly stroke.

In the evening the girls created an excessively cushioned/cozy reading lounge for themselves. Right now they really like the Junie B. Jones and Heidi Heckelbeck series.

Happy 7th Birthday!

The girls are seven years old! Here is Lauren (left) and Emily (right) opening some gifts on the morning of their birthday. They love Shopkins!

Thank you to Aunty Carol and Uncle Joe for the birthday gifts... the Frozen blankets are SO soft and cozy!

The girls spent part of their birthday at summer day camp. Here they are with their favorite teacher, Mr. Carlos. Their birthday also happened to be stuff-a-bear day!

In the afternoon I took the girls to Toys R Us... they each got to pick out some toys as their gift from us. Shopkins and Playmobil were their toys of choice.

In the evening we celebrated with dinner at Benihana's.

Our official restaurant portrait.

The next morning we hosted a brunch for our families. We love living so close to our families!

Cousins Kali and Kay gave the girls some really cool medical themed Playmobil sets. The four of them got the sets assembled in no time!

In the evening the girls had a bowling party with eleven of their friends from school.

The girls chose chocolate cupcakes with an Inside Out theme. They were delicious!
