Lexi Photos- November 2022

Lexi stretching to pull down her favorite flamingo toy from its storage spot.

She loves to go for walks when it is sunny.

A staring contest- Lexi versus cat.

I love how her winter jacket matched the fallen leaves.

Lexi got a cozy new car seat... she started using it straight out of the box before we even installed it in the car.

Lexi loves afternoon naps.

Always eyeing her flamingo... we have to store it out of her reach or she will destroy/eat it.

Curled up in her flap bed.

Resting on Lauren.

Holiday portrait in front of the tree.

She loves to sleep next to the fire... we call it her fire bed :)

She will curl up on anything soft and cozy, including our pillows.

November Snapshots

We all got sick over Thanksgiving! We had to cancel plans with family and quarantine. I was the least sick and was still able to prepare a dinner for the four of us.

Lexi had her favorite poached chicken for Thanksgiving.

There were some amazing sunset skies in November.

The girls had friends over for holiday cookie baking.

Winter Piano Recital

Emily played "As It Was" at the winter piano recital.

Lauren played "Pirates of the Caribbean". They both did a fantastic job!

Third Degree Black Belt Testing

In November, the girls tested for their third degree black belts in taekwondo.

They had to perform multiple poomsae which are choreographed routines incorporating various taekwondo moves.

The girls had to perform extra poomsae since they were testing for third degree black belts... these videos are just a sample of some of the ones they performed.

They were also tested on multiple nunchuck forms... including double nunchuck routines such as this one.

Board breaking techniques were also assessed... here is Emily kicking a board.

Lauren kicking a board.

The four of them have been training together for years!

At the end of the long testing, they were awarded their third degree black belts.

There were many students from different taekwondo studios testing that day for varying degree black belts.

This photo shows Master Eric with his students from the Tigard studio.

Congratulations to Emily and Lauren... we are so proud of you!

Las Vegas, Day Three

We went to Omega Mart, a unique interactive/immersive art experience.

The front of it is designed like a grocery store with interesting/odd products.

We walked through a "freezer" area filled with fake meat...

...and ended up in a large area with unusual art installations.

There were a lot of secret passages leading to additional areas.

We ended up back in the grocery store area.

It was definitely a unique place!

Omega Mart is part of Area 15 which has a lot of different attractions.

This bar had a giant tree that constantly changed colors.

The girls rode a rollglider (basically an electric zipline) that hung from the ceiling of Area 15.

We had lunch at a barbecue restaurant and it was so good!

In the afternoon the girls went kart racing.

They did pretty well and Justin won the race.

In the evening we went to the Bellagio Hotel.

We had dinner at the Bellagio buffet... there was so much food to choose from. This was the poke area.

The dessert area was extensive... this was just part of it.

After dinner we saw the Cirque du Soleil show called "O". It was amazing and they allowed the audience to take a photo at the end of the show.

We walked around a little after the show and enjoyed the lights. It was a great trip!

Lexi stayed with a dog sitter while we were away. She enjoyed playing with friends.
