Hood River Trip

We always look forward to our Hood River trips! Justin and the girls went for the whole week and I joined up with them mid-week since I had to work. This is Lauren sitting on the back deck of the rental condo with Lexi.

Lexi resting in her bed. The change in routine that comes with travel is both exciting and a bit stressful for her.

One of our favorite cafes, Doppio, is dog friendly!

Grandma and Grandpa Rufener came down for a day... we went out for dinner at Solstice Wood Fire Pizza.

We were able to walk from the rental condo to the downtown area.

Lexi likes to lay in the grass when the weather is warm.

Relaxing at the condo... Lexi always likes to be close by. :)

The girls took a windsurfing lesson with their friend Amanda.

We went out for a fancy dinner at Celilo.

I had a tuna nicoise salad... it was amazing!

Dessert at Mike's Ice Cream is one of our favorite Hood River traditions.

Morning walk with Lexi... it was surprisingly warm even in the mornings.

The walks made her so tired she could not even play with her favorite flamingo!

Napping in the air conditioned condo.

The three of them enjoyed a lot of lounging in bed.

We went swimming for the first time since the pandemic started!

On our last night of the vacation, we had take out sushi for dinner at the waterfront park.

Lexi enjoyed the trip and was so happy to come back home... she took a bath followed by a long nap.

The next day she was even more exhausted. Vacations can be tiring!

Taekwondo Level Test, Ila, and Family Brunch

The girls completed their second degree black belt level two testing... they did a great job! I was so mesmerized by their nunchuck skills that I actually forgot to take any photos/videos. I did get a photo and video of their form testing. We are so proud of the girls!

The girls' friend Ila visited from Arizona... it was great to see her!

We had DD and MAWS over for a Father's Day brunch... it is so nice to be able to get together again now that everyone is vaccinated.

Lexi Snapshots

Lexi is able to stand on her legs for short periods of time!

Playing with her flamingo is one of her favorite activities.

Lexi will often bring a toy and look up at us... it is her way of asking us to play. So cute!

We call this the smooshed muzzle sleeping pose.

She loves for us to toss her flamingo down our entry way hallway so she can fetch it.

She also loves a good game of tug. I buy these flamingos in multiples as she eventually destroys them.

Sometimes she falls asleep in the strangest positions.

We are able to check on her at home while we are away with our Furbo camera. We try to tire her out before we leave so she will nap while we are away.

I took Lexi to a large grass field and she loved it!

She enjoys stretching out in the shade and smelling the grass.

Look at the smile! :D

When she is really tired she likes to burrow herself into her flap bed. She is such a sweet dog!

June Trip to Rockaway Beach

Earlier this month we went on a weekend trip to Rockaway Beach on the Oregon coast... we enjoyed our April trip so much that we decided to go back.

We even stayed at the same quirky rental house... we love the oceanfront location.

I was lounging on the bed and Lexi kept coming in to check on me. :P

Girls relaxing on the beach.

They always love to play in the waves.

Lexi enjoys walking on the soft sand and prefers to stay away from the water.

Justin and I went for a hike in the afternoon.

The girls did a great job of tiring Lexi out so she would be able to sleep well while we went out to dinner that evening.

We had dinner at the Neah-Kah-Nie Bistro... the food was fantastic.

It was a fun way to celebrate our 22 year anniversary! It started to rain, but fortunately the outdoor dining area was covered.

I had Italian prawns with vegetables and polenta... it was delicious!

Lexi was still tired even after we came back from dinner. She loves a good nap. :)

The ocean view was so pretty and relaxing. We love the Oregon coast!

Lexi- May Black and White Portraits

I love this photo because it looks like she is smiling!

Lexi is learning the "leave it" command... we place a treat near her and ask her to "leave it". If she can show self restraint, she earns the treat and is allowed to eat it when we say "Okay!"

Looking out the window.

She is so cute when she sleeps!
